ABOUT ME
I am currently a researcher at the University of Chicago, working on complex ecological systems. With 10 years of ample experience in data analysis and scientific research, I have the relevant background and skills to join companies. I am seeking for a position where I can grow, develop, and make an impact. Visit my resume page to learn more about my skills. |
I work in an academic environment, but my research depends heavily on analysis of large, structured, data sets. To develop and manage my projects, I use a set of tools that is similar to that data scientists in the industry (like R and GitHub). I use these tools to apply a variety of advanced methods to analyze my data, including network analysis, regression models and clustering. But data science is not only about the tools, and here's where academic experience gives an edge: In my 10 years experience in quantitative research, I have learned that asking the right questions is as important as our efforts to answer them. And even when one has focused on a question, there are usually several ways to approach it, often leading to surprising new insights. Although I work mostly independently, each one of my projects is a result of collaborative work. And of course, once a project is concluded (and many times during the process), my work involves communicating the results to specialists and non-specialists by writing publications and using presentations.
